Tamil Tigers plan another TV channel, if France closes down TTN TV

Paris, 04 April, (Asiantribune.com): In an attempt to dodge the impending closure of the illegal transmission of the TTN TV - Tamil Television Network televised from France, the Tamil Tigers are planning to launch another TTN TV channel. They have already announced their plans recently on their IBC radio.

The case for the closure of the TTN Television is pending in a French court. The case is scheduled for hearing on the 15th of May. The French authorities instituted this case as it was operating without proper and prior authorization. The closure of TTN TV is now considered a foregone conclusion. This has forced the Tamil Tigers in France to launch another TTN TV channel.

Furthermore, in case French Government institute legal action against the proposed new channel, it is expected to drag on for several months, even several years. The Tigers are planning to exloit this legal loophole to launch the second TV channel.

It is learnt that the technical services to the TTN TV is presently provided by the Globecast, a subsidiary of the France Telecom.

Tigers are trying to launch the new channel on the Hindu Buddhist New Year day by converting the TV station Sikaram which they bought recently in Australia.
