[b]13 Soldiers Jump Boyagane Army Camp Jail[/b]

[b] Colombo, 17 November, (Asiantribune.com): [/b]Day-before-yesterday (15 November) 13 soldiers who were incarcerated at the Boyagane, Kurunegala Army Camp Jail have escaped, according to Army information.

A senior Army Officer has revealed that when the prison gates were opened for the jailed soldiers to have their dinner, the imprisoned soldiers have assaulted those soldiers who brought the dinner and escaped.

Army sources revealed that the captured deserted soldiers and other soldiers who were accused of contravening discipline were kept in this army prison.

Though the Army was able to capture one escaping soldier, the other 12 soldiers are still at large and have not been able to be taken into custody.

Details of the absconding soldiers have been supplied to the police stations in the areas where these soldiers were living.
