[b]Islamabad, 10 February (Asiantribune.com):[/b] At least 23 people were killed and more than 50 injured when a suicide bomber attack a Shiite Muslims congregation in Hangu town of the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan.

The attack sparked angry riots on the holiest day of the Shiites' calendar, sparking riots during which more than 30 shops were gutted and other installations were targeted.

Pakistan interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said army and other security forces have been deployed in the area and the situation was under control now.

Sherpao said army and paramilitary forces had moved into Hangu to control the unrest. He said announcements had been made from local mosques urging calm while security had been boosted across the country.
