But Sri Lanka Army has denied of their involvement and condemned attempts by the LTTE Peace Secretariat to blame the Army over the alleged explosions of claymore mines in un-cleared areas of Kilinochchi, targeting both an ambulance and a van during the course of yesterday.

Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara denied any involvement in the attack, saying, “We don't operate in that area.”

This was not the first time LTTE has blamed the Sri Lanka Government Army of involvement in roadside claymore attacks inside the areas controlled by them.

Earlier, LTTE Peace Secretariat reported the killing of the Tamil National Alliance Member of Parliament Kiddnar Sivanesan on 06 March. LTTE alleged that he was killed by a claymore attack by the Deep Penetrating Unit of the Sri Lanka Military. TNA MP's killing – A conflicting report

The incident took place on the Akkarayan-Murukandy road in Kilinochchi.

According to the LTTE Peace Secretariat reports, “Nineteen members of an extended family were traveling in that van and sixteen of them were killed and the other three were injured and were admitted to the Kilinochchi hospital.”

LTTE Peace Secretariat also reported that a baby sleeping in her cot and a seventeen year old girl were killed and the baby's mother was injured when Sri Lanka Air Force bombers dropped bombs over their home in Katpadu in Sundikulam in Kilinochchi.

But the Air force spokesman Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara denied bombing civilian areas. However, he said fighter jets had bombed a rebel gathering area and a beach where the Tigers had concealed their boats.
