Douglas & Sons markets reputed Yuasa batteries in Sri Lanka

Colombo, 22 October, (Asiantribune.com): Douglas & Sons Ltd (DSL), Sri Lanka’s number one importer of premier Japanese brands of auto parts and tires have also started importing and selling the world’s foremost battery – Yuasa – in the Sri Lankan market.

A press briefing was held at Cinnamon Grand Hotel to announce the launch of Yuasa Batteries in Sri Lanka.

Saroj Perera, Managing Director, DSL said that for over 20 years DSL has leveraged this industry by pioneering the introduction of best-in-quality automotive products and their collaboration with Yuasa Corporation enables them to continue the tradition of excellence by offering customers the world renowned Yuasa batteries.

Yuasa batteries are not confined to automotives only, but there is a wide variety of batteries for various other purposes. In the airline technology is the Boeing 787 airline that would be launched this year or early next year and they are fitted with Yuasa batteries. Further Yuasa manufactures batteries for electric cars.

DSL is now 40 years old and in addition to auto spare-parts, tyres and batteries import and sales now have diversified to various other areas like, garment industry, IT, Warehousing and have two soft toys manufacturing factories. The soft toys are supplied to the international market, through reputed retails chains such as Marks and Spencer, Mothercare, Walmart, Gap and Next.

Mr Perera said that they have four decades of expertise in the motor spare parts merchandising. With this hard and long experience they hope to go into manufacturing some of these spare parts, but the plans are still in the ‘drawing board’ and though there is no definite time plan, it would happen soon. He said it would be with or without foreign collaboration.
