Go Organic! Philippines, a consortium of nongovernment organizations led by the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) and La Liga Policy Institute (LLPI), is currently taking the lead in implementing Phase I of the Organic Fields Support Program (OFSP), a program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) which seeks to promote organic farming in the Philippines.
As part of the campaign, Ayala agreed to perform in two live concerts happening this month at the city plaza in Alaminos, Pangasinan and the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City for Go Organic! Philippines.
The first concert event coincides with the grand fiesta celebration of Alaminos City on March 19, 2009.
The second is part of the 5th holding of the Eco-Products International Fair (EPIF 2009) which will happen in the Philippines from March 19 to 22.
The international fair will run from March 19 to 22 at the SMX Convention Center beside the SM Mall of Asia, which will feature exhibits ranging from eco-products, eco-services, environmental technology and business as well as various environmental initiatives by over 100 local and international companies and organizations participating in the once-a-year event.
EPIF 2009 will celebrate a Go Organic! Day on the last day, March 22, which will be highlighted by a concert of Joey Ayala, who will be joined by actress-environmental advocate Chinchin Gutierrez at the main exhibit area from 2:30pm to 5pm.
The free concert events sponsored by the Go Organic! Philippines aims to promote organic farming and organic lifestyle among farmers and consumers as well.
“My contribution to the campaign is to stimulate the spiritual aspect of farming,” he says.
Ayala said he wants to impart the virtue of having an organic lifestyle starting at home, such as waste segregation and even eating organic food as much as possible, among Filipinos.
Ayala popularized haunting songs as "Walang Hanggang Paalam" from the album "Magkabilaan" and "Wala Nang Tao Sa Santa Filomena."
He also recorded other albums such as "Panganay ng Umaga," "Mga Awit ng Tanod-Lupa," "Lumad sa Siyudad," and "Langit at Lupa." "16 Lovesongs".
His songs often deal with environmental concerns, and contradictions on oneself, love, nature, and the society.
