Poll: Click your view on Prabhakaran’s death

There are conflicting views over the death of VelupillaiPrabhakaranPrabhakaran Prabhakaran, the LTTE chief. The Sri Lanka government and army claim he has been killed and his body ‘cremated’ and the ashes ‘thrown’ in the Indian Ocean yesterday.

But there are people who believe "he is still alive." Even pro LTTE political leaders in Tamil Nadu quip openly that the LTTE supremo is "alive" and "escaped". BBC also raised the possibility of a look-alike double being shown in clippings. However, from the reports available to people, the media images flashed, there is reason to believe, he may be no more.

Prabhakaran, for many, is hero, warrior, champion of Tamil cause, who gave dignity and honour for Tamils and all that. In short, a legend. And legend don’t die, even if the real death passed by.

He has been all the above said adulations upto certain period of time and went "blood thirsty", "terrorism-personified", "deviated" and all that. In short for many he is terrorists and a killer maniac.

It is not out of place to mention about Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose, who launched a political movement for the Indian independence, Indian National Army, died in an air crash on August 18, 1945. The legend, he was, his death was not accepted by many and there was committee trying to find fact about it which stretched until recently, but to no avail.

We are not going into the moot point; that is not our desire and aim. We are neither going into it is true or not true. We only go by what you think. What you believe. You are also witness to all points of view. You are invited to record here what you think. Don’t worry your name is not recorded, only your view.

We have decided to go in for a gallop poll based on what you think on four points. They are:

Maintaining Prabhakaran

Maintaining Prabhakaran Alive will only support the diaspora money collectors. They will come up with more and more evidence in near future saying Prabhakaran is alive. They have to do that to protect the moral of the invesments of the Tamil diaspora to date and to motivate them to invest more an dmore. But by the time Tamil people will understand that if they do not give money these collectors can not haress their relatives any more in back home as they did earlier. This will take some time for them to understand. That is why President Mahinda could not save them right away although he saved the Tamils living in Sri Lanka. This date will bethe real Freedom Day for them.

Sarath LTTE supporters

Sarath

LTTE supporters living out of Sri Lanka do not want to lose trust or will power placed by the majority of Tamils in LTTE movement. If anybody gets the impression that there is no leader, he/she will naturally diminish interest in involving in any movement or its activities. This now the LTTE supporters do. Now they sell the dead body of their leader and try to mislead the public as they have done since the inception of this terrorist movement. If Prabakaran is alive by now, they will have disclosed everything with pride and unbound delight. By saying so, they can go on further cheating Tamils who stay or live out of Sri Lanka.

Maintaining the lie is

Maintaining the lie is essential to keep the cash flow moving. If Velu is dead and themilitary campaign is over, then the foreign based cash collectors and extortion agents will not find their target base (tamil 'contributors') no longer easy to part from their cash. That could lead to a drastic life style decline for most, if not all of them.

The tamil eelamist thugs will do everyting possible to either keep the lie alive, and thus the threat to life intact, so that the tamils abroad cough up the cash. As time goes by, a new entity may even arise to take advantage of this sudden vaccuum in a lucrative business.

Prabakaran is luky he got

Prabakaran is luky he got killed. I wish He was captured and spend rest of his life in prison and suffer. LTTE got the Military solution they deserve. Now it's time minority get the Political solution they deserve too. Forget about what etinic group or relegion group you belong, think as a Sri Lankan. Constitution need to amend to accept every ethnic and relegion group have same and equal rights. No more, no less and no preferences. Country should run on pure moral values, not some ethinic or relegious values. Keep them out of the Government. I believe in United, Prosperous, Peacefull and always Smiling Sri Lanka.

I think he is in hell. But

I think he is in hell. But the Tamil Diaspora will bring forth a man in the shape of Prabaharan and say he is Prabaharn the Tamil leader and hero.

killed by the sri lankan

killed by the sri lankan Army

It is nice to see, based on

It is nice to see, based on comments on this thread, that now there is a greater awareness of the need for Constitutional changes, and that ethnic and religious issues should play a secondary role. However, let us not forget that, since soon after Independence, it was the playing of the ethnic-card in order to win votes that set the ball rolling for the birth of the LTTE. If we learn the lessons from our past mistakes, progress will be possible.
