By M Rama Rao in New Delhi

New Delhi, 06 April ( L K Advani and Rajnath Singh, two leaders of India’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata party are undertaking a grueling month long road journey through the heart of India. While Advani, a former deputy prime minister, is hitting the road from Rajkot in BJP ruled Gujarat, Rajnath Singh, the party chief, is beginning his yatra from Puri, in Orissa ruled by BJP ally Biju Janata Dal (BJD)

On the eve of their yatra, the Bharatiya Janata Party has displayed an unusual scene of unity in its top echelons. Also the party patriarch Atal Behari Vajpayee publicly blessed the two yatras – Advani's and Rajnath Singh’s. The photo ops was provided at the official residence of Mr Vajpayee in the capital. It was yet another attempt to show 'former prime minister is indeed not against the yatra.'
