[b]Toronto, 30 April, (Asiantribune.com):[/b]Canadian Police is cracking down hard on the Tamil Tigers of Canada after the federal government listed them as a terrorist organization them last month.
The raid of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on the World Tamil Movement (WTM) in Toronto last week led to the temporary closing down of the Tamil community newspaper, confiscation of Tiger literature and CD’s and DVD’s.
It also raided 'Asian Textiles' one of the biggest textile marts located in Scarborough. Police are reported to have removed some documents found in the shop along with LTTE flags and photographs of Prabakaran.
Toronto Star reported that Police withdrew its officers from a community event organized by WTM. The "Muththamil"> event – a music, dance and drama festival – was to be held yesterday to honor those declared as patriots by Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the Tigers hiding in the jungle of Vanni. But when the Police withdrew its officers from the event it was cancelled.

Yes, it is Tamil Canadians, not LTTE, who has been hit hard by the police.
Tamils were happy under Mulroney government as well. It is only under the Reform party which is hiding behind the conservative party's name to get Ontario votes who has problems with Tamils.

A good start, anyhow another program organized by TVI and CMR 101.3 M “KONDADDAM” coming on. This is a multicultural program.
But Canadian lawyers only making money from all these. For LTTE/ WTM without any financial difficulties spending the Tamils hard earned money.
The Canadian authorities have to audit these people’s accounts, transactions and payments.
These funds coming from where?

The Tamils in Canada feel much free and relaxed now because of the ban on the LTTE. The silent majority of the Canadian Tamils will now support the Conservative party.
That guy, Sinnathamby Sittampalam is lying through his teeth saying that the WTM has nothing to do with the LTTE. Every Tamil and the RCMP know that WTM is nothing but a LTTE front organization.
I am a Tamil. Many of my friends are Tamil. They expressed their happyness at the banning of LTTE. There is no use claiming that the Tamils are upset over the ban (of LTTE). Only those who lived on the illusion of LTTE and did business (fund rasing etc.)in their name are upset, and of course, most of the Tamil tabloids are also upset.
What to do? time keeps changing, so does the history.

Canada has been a safe heaven for The LTTE for 12 years of the liberal rule. The Liberals played politics at the expense of development of Sri Lanka all this time. Now the tide has been changed. Conservatives has some principles when it comes to global terrorism. They can not play politics at the expense of lives of 18 million people . if they do , they would lose the support of the people from the western Canada who are bed rock of the conservative movement in Canada. Conservative government understands that stumbling block that prevents achieving peace in Sri Lanka is the mortal fear that the LTTE has for the democracy.
