Colombo, 21 October, (Asiantribune.com): Ceylon Workers Congress Vice President and Deputy Minister of Tourism Faizer Musthapha said he would decide next week whether to support Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe or Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at the Presidential race.

However Musthapaha’s decision comes despite the CWC decision on October 6, to support Opposition Leader Wickremesinghe’s bid for the Presidency.

Amidst media reports that he would join Sri Lanka Muslim Congress or would support Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at the November 17 poll, Mustapha remained non-committal as to which party he would support.

“I returned from Mecca in Saudi Arabia Tuesday. I am yet to decide whom I should support. I have to study the manifestos of both candidates in depth before taking a decision”, he said in an interview with the ‘Asian Tribune.”

He countered CWC Deputy Leader R. Yogarajan comment that Musthapha refused to give up ministerial portfolios following the party’s decision to back the Opposition Leader. “Other members in the party give up portfolios while I was abroad. There is no question of giving it up”.
