Colombo, 27 February, ( The Head of the Government delegation to Geneva talks, Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said on Sunday that Government will take all necessary steps to fulfill its undertaking to ensure that no group other than the Security Forces will carry arms or conduct armed operations

. However, the Minister said this will not refer to any particular identified group or person.

"The Government will deal with any person who engage in these acts through the law of the country", the Minister told reporters in Colombo.

"Whatever the steps needed will be taken by the government to implement the agreement (reached in Switzerland)," chief negotiator Nimal Siripala de Silva said on Sunday.

Minister Siripala de Silva said, though the two parties could not reach consensus on all the matters, they were able to rebuild the confidence that is much needed for the continuation of the peace process.
