Is another crisis imminent in the LTTE ?
Sent by Mallika Wanigasundara
As the peace talks neared the LTTE has been trying to make vital changes in its military hierarchy and command structure. Banu, a resident of Ariyalai in the north of Jaffna has been the military commander of Ampara/Batticaloa. Now the LTTE has made a move to appoint Ramesh a resident of Batticaloa as a special military commander to Ampara/ Batticaloa.
With this change in the military structure the makings of another crisis within the LTTE seem to be in the offing. The LTTE terrorists faced its greatest crisis when in 2004 Karuna rebel/renegade/dissident and his cadres broke away from the LTTE and the vacuum he left is the weakest link in the Tiger’s military chain. Despite every effort to cover up the extent of the deterioration that has set in, it is evident that the breakaway is a huge blow.

in this context, can we take it that 'technical difficulties' is synonymous with BAN!?
When I checked alst time the 'technical difficulties' means technical difficuties and BAN means BAN!
In Sri Lanka it may be synonymous with BAN!
A lot of thing are synonymous there.
Just check the JVP time in 1987 for synonymous stuff.
Did you hear a saying 'You can't have the cake and eat it too'?
But you are quite comfortably eating humble pie or rather cowardice pie Mr Dixon.
ok, let's rephrase this to pacify all concerned parties, shall we!??
LTTE, seemingly, has the cake, but since they can never-ever eat it,
they are resorting to eating humble pie!
btw, does a humble pie resemble in taste to a thosai, mr dick-son!? i doubt so!

Lets hope not.
No wonder their Army HQ is infilltrated
You are glorifying something LTT officially denied involvement Mr Dixon.
Let me put it this way the way you understand Mr Dixon.
Every time you glorify the murder attempt, or infiltration whatever you call it,
you are calling LTT cowards. 8)
hmmm.. not just cowards!
the terrorists are turning out to be impotent no-can-kill cowards!
after all that planning, and a loss of a potential LTTE baby brigade companion in that unborn baby, what a flop at the end! - they couldn't strike their target! :? 8) heh..he.. a sloppy flop indeed!

by dixon.
Any country that had a goor end product.
If that is the case why struggle to come up?
May be all should do what Loard Budha did!
USSR did not live at least 70 years.
Exactly, the artificial unions will not last long. Even if it was the mighty USSR! So are Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia.
What do you think about mother Lanka? Will it last as a forced/heavily centralized 'Democratic Socialistic Republic? :? (What ever the meaning!!!!)
China - how many ears?
I don't know how many 'ears' china has!
I even checked the CIA's world fact book, no information there either!
Just joking, no hard feelings 1/LTTE! :D

No, LTTE realy don't need helicopters, ferries, seaplanes to transport their commanders to Vanni. The just play their political/military game with SL Government.
If they want to bring Banu/Ramesh they would have done it while they sucessfully did a sea journey after attacking Karuna group.
quite right! in fact, you are so right, that i cannot stop myself from thinking you are an LTTEr! :?
If my comments/openions makes me an LTTEr, I cannot complain but laugh.
If I accuse you in the same manner as a SL Intelligence guy, here goes an intelligance operative.
No wonder their Army HQ is infilltrated while they are looking for LTTErs on the web!
anyways, who do you think is winning this politico-military game this time around - tiger terrorists or GOSL? just curious what your 'honest' opinion is...

If I'm that smart to predict, I will not be writing comments on AT forum!
If you just want to take the 'sea journey' which the LTTE had after the Karuna camp attack LTTE won the military and political game.
But all depends on the end product.
Mallika Wanigasundara asks: Is this whole pantomime about inveigling the government into providing helicopters, ferries, seaplanes for terrorist cadres to travel to the north and back, for’ consultations’ a ruse to get Banu into the safety of the north and Ramesh into the jaws of death? Who knows, who knows, Ramesh could defect!
