The Prime Minister has assured that full responsibility for the security of Muslims will be taken by the Government, the Centre for Muslim Ethnic Studies (CMES) said yesterday.

Sri Lankan Muslims are facing a severe leadership crisis following the week long Tamil- Muslim clash in the eastern region of the country.

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), which claims to be the sole representative of the one million strong Sri Lankan Muslims, is facing grave internal conflict and challenge from Colombo based Muslims.

<b>I Will Destroy the Palace and Kill Everyone – Katmandu Mayor Recalls</b>


b>Bangkok, 10 July: “I will destroy the Palace and kill everyone, if anyone interfered with the choice of my wife, - threatened the Crown Prince Dipendra of Nepal, when I went to meet him on some other business,” recalled sadly Keshav Sthapit, the Mayor of Katmandu, at a discussion he had with this writer in Bangkok.

In the meantime, in a separate development, Nepal has demanded the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), to stop their alleged support to Maoist guerrillas fighting to topple the government in Katmandu.
