Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister and LTTE’s chief negotiator meet in Oslo

The Press release issued by the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway states that, in connection with the Sri Lanka Support Meeting in Oslo 25 November, the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickremasinghe, and the Tamil Tigers’ (LTTE) chief negotiator, Anton Balasingham, will meet for the first time to discuss the ongoing peace process.

India unmoved after talks with Sri Lankan peace envoy

Bangkok, Nov. 23: The second day of the 2nd International Conference of Asian Political Parties kick started at the Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok, this morning. The political parties in Thailand are jointly hosting the meeting and according to conference organizers, nearly 70 political parties from 30 Asian Countries are at present participating in the conference.

PM calls for cooperation among Asian political parties

Bangkok, Nov 23 (TNA) - Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Saturday called for sound cooperation among political parties in Asia to enhance regional potential and competitiveness.

Donor Countries Should not Pledge without a written avowal on Terrorism - SLFP General Secretary

Those countries that have come forward to participate in the international donor conference, scheduled for tomorrow in Oslo, should not promise any aid without getting a written pledge from the Prime Minster, that fund given to Sri lanka will not in any way be misused, allowed or given opportunities for being used for terrorist activities. Maithripala Srisena today made this conscientious appeal, who is the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

Oslo would host the next Sri Lankan peace talks.

The Third negotiation meeting of the Sri Lankan peace talks is scheduled to be held from 2- 5 December at Oslo, Norway.

Parties have established a good working relationship - SLMM.

The Ampara district sub-committee meeting was held on 23 November at the divisional Secretariat office at Akkaraipattu. The purpose of the meeting was to submit recommendations to the sub-committee on de-escalation and normalization.
