It is not fashionable to be identified as a Sinhala-Buddhist in the current climate where all blame is heaped on them for the north-south crisis that exploded in devastating proportions in the last decades of the 20th century. By and large, the pro-Tamil ideologues attribute the north-south conflict to the culture and history of the Sinhala-Buddhists.
