Lakshman Kadirgamar, Sri Lankan politician (April 12, 1932 – August 13, 2005), was appointed Foreign Minister of Sri Lanka in April 2004. He previously held this position 1994-2001.

Asian Tribune is sad to announce the death of Sri Lanka’s foreign Minister, Lakshman Kadirgamar (73) around 12. 15 a.m.today. Police reports said that a sniper had taken aim and shot him twice – one in the head and the other in the chest -- from a Tamil house in the neighborhood. He was returning to his residence at Longden Place, Colombo around 10.30 p.m. after his regular swim when the bullets hit him. Police also found a tripod and spent bullets at the spot where the sniper had fired. He was rushed to the National Hospital where he died shortly after.Post your opinion

Is the killing of the Foreign Minister Kadiragama an act that was spearheaded from the policy adapted by Ranil Wickremesinghe's (RW) administration?
During his term of office RW removed all police and army protections that was in place to protect Colombo

But then the ultimate responsibility for the protection of the nation remains with the President.
Yet, she did nothing to reve

The assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar has come as a rude shock to India both at the official and political level. Kadirgamar was popular figure on the Indian political circuit. He had well wishers across the Indian political divide as a regular visitor to New Delhi.
