The assassination of Lakshman Kadirgamar was a pre-planned plot by the LTTE to demonstrate their utter contempt for the failed Cease Fire Agreement (CFA) they signed with Ranil Wickremesinghe. Though Ranil Wickremesinghe and G. L. Peiris were crowing that they had trapped Prabhakaran to acknowledge the sovereignty of the Sri Lanka at Oslo, Prabhakaran and Balasingham knew better. They knew that they had tricked the political twins, Wickremesinghe and Peiris, to extract all what they could at that stage by making them believe that they had obtained LTTE’s recognition of the sovereignty of Sri Lanka.Post your comments

Last Friday the LTTE assassinated Lakshman Kadiragamar; a week later it has declared its willingness to re-commence peace talks and maybe even to review the MoU. Perhaps the national and international reaction to the wanton murder of Mr. Kadiragamar was a bit stronger than was anticipated by the Tigers. Perhaps this is what the Tigers intended to do all along; hit hard causing maximum damage and then offer to talk so that their crime is forgiven if not forgotten.Post your comments
