SC decided to hold presidential election this year.

Sri Lanka’s Supreme Court unanimously decided to hold the presidential election this year. A panel of Five Supreme Court Judges headed by Chief Justice Sarath Nanda Silva on Friday took the decision.

<font size = 2>Recalling Amirthalingam:</font> Balasunderam’s Book in memory of Sri Lankan Tamil Leader released.

Sri Lanka’s Tamil leader Appapillai Amirthalingam was remembered at a simple ceremony in Pondicherry, when the book titled "Amirthalingam Sahaptham,” written by Kathir Balasuntharam, a Sri Lanka Tamil living in Canada was released at Pondicherry recently to commemorate also his birth anniversary on 26th August.

Presidential Elections between November 15-22?

According to the elections law the presidential elections should be held after 4 to 6 weeks subsequent to submitting nnominations and therefore the date for the presidential elections should be between 15-22 November, a senior official of the Elections Secretariat revealed to the 'Divaina'.
