The party accused LTTE of hurling grenades at people at prayers in a mosque at Akkaraipathu on the day preceding the poll and killing scores of people, killing Mr.Faleel, the Divisional Secretary, Kathankudy, on 4th December killing a Muslim civilian Hajja Mohideen of Thoppur and also Killing three Muslim civilians of Thoppur and dumping their bodies in the neighborhood. TamilNet and Puithinam two pro-LTTE websites -- have reported that the talks between the Security forces and the LTTE have been cancelled at the last minute by the Sri Lankan Peace Secretariat. Jaffna Commander, Maj. Gen. Sunil Tennakoon was scheduled to meet the Jaffna District Political Head of the LTTE C. Illamparuthi on Monday evening. The meeting was to discuss the deteriorating ground situation in which the LTTE was accused of killing Army personnel in Jaffna . In the east the LTTE has gone on a spree of killing Muslims. Sri Lanka is edging closer to war with LTTE further "intensifying" its violence in Jaffna and in the east. In Jaffna the LTTE launched its second attack today on a Sri Lankan Army (SLA) tractor in Irupalai (5 km North east of Jaffna town) killing six soldiers and seriously injuring another, who subsequently succumb to the injuries.
