No-war-no-peace speech of Prabhakaran promises elusive Eelam again

V.PrabakaranThe expected declaration of war did not materialize in this year's speech of Velupillai Prabhakaran, the leader of the Tamil Tigers. Nor did he make a declaration of peace. He began his speech by saying that they are placed in a period "unprecedented in history where they are "dealing with war and peace talks at the same time."
He concluded his speech by saying that he is left with "only one option, political independence and statehood for the people of Tamil Eelam." He emphasized: "It is now crystal clear that the Sinhala leaders will never put forward a just resolution to the Tamil national question. Therefore, we are not prepared to place our trust in the impossible and walk along the same old futile path.
