Compulsory specification of Sugar and Salt contents in food products

The Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka, has decided to make it compulsory within the next two weeks for traders to specify salt and sugar content in food products as a means of stopping the rapid increase in non-communicable diseases, under the Food Act No. 26 of 1980, the Director General of Health Services, Dr. Palitha Maheepala stated.
