Thousands paid rich tributes to late NNC leader Kevilevor

Thousands of people braving rains turned up to pay their last respect to the departed soul late Kevilevor Phizo, Central Executive Member of the Naga National Council (NNC), at a grand funeral service organized here at Mission Compound on Sunday.

Anti Malaria Campaign inadequate - Dr. Sarath Deniyage,

The support that the Anti Malaria Campaign is getting from the authorities of the Department of Immigration and Emigration was not adequate to educate and provide proper guidance to travelers from abroad at the Airport to prevent malaria transmission, Dr. Sarath Deniyage, Director of Malaria Control Board stated. Douglas filed 4th defamation case against ‘Uthayan’ demanding Rs.500 million in compensation

Minister Douglas Devananda, a Member of Parliament for the electoral district of Jaffna, has filed at the District Court of Jaffna, the fourth defamation case on Friday 26 April, against Uthayan, a Tamil language newspaper published from Jaffna, by New Uthayan Publication (Pvt) Ltd., demanding Rs.500 million compensation with interest.

President Mahinda pays his last respects to Late Diluk Susara Pathirage

President Mahinda Rajapaksa pays his last respects to the Chairman of Puttalam Pradeshiya Sabha, Late Diluk Susara Pathirage, who was killed in a motor accident on Thursday (25). The PS chairman and his driver were traveling towards Puttalam from Colombo when their vehicle collided with a tipper truck near the Chilaw- Deduru Oya Bridge.
