The Sri Lankan Pavilion at the annual ‘IFTM TOP RESA’ (International French Travel Market) was the centre of cynosure with hundreds of visitors meeting with representatives of Sri Lankan travel and tour companies that were present in Paris from 24th to 27th September 2013.

Childhood TB Roadmap will help save lives: Experts

The "Road-map for Childhood Tuberculosis: Towards Zero Deaths" - the first-ever plan which specifically addresses TB in children and outlines the path towards zero deaths from childhood TB - was jointly launched on 1st October 2013, by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The Union), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Stop TB Partnership and other partners.

The United Nations General Assembly today (9th Oct) elected the Minister Counsellor of the Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka to the United Nations in New York, Mr Waruna Sri Dhanapala, as Vice Chair of the Second Committee for its 68th Session. His candidature for the Bureau of the Second Committee had been unanimously endorsed by the Asia-Pacific Group.

Canada: Sri Lanka needs diplomatic offensive, not infantile defensive

The Chinese news agency Xinhua has quoted the Sri Lankan cabinet spokesman Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella as saying that Canadian ambassador in Colombo will be summoned by the External Affairs Ministry to discuss 'future diplomatic relations' between the two countries.
