Historical Photographic Exhibition in Berlin

To mark the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Germany, an exhibition of historical 19th century photographs under the title “Landscapes of Sri Lanka” was inaugurated on 26th September 2013 in Berlin, Germany, by Minister of National Heritage Dr. Jagath Balasuriya. Sri Lanka need not worry about the people who cannot make it. They will not make a positive impact even if they come reluctantly. There are country leaders who are pressured by certain groups abroa, working against Sri Lanka. Canada and U.K. are great examples.

Exports turn around, Lanka enters CHOGM biz runway

An eager Sri Lanka launched the business side of its forthcoming CHOGM -and announced its new export turnaround to a packed presser on 22 October. “I am happy to say that our exports from January to September this year shows an increase of 1.07%, in comparison to the same period in 2012. This shows that, having faced the international market challenges our exports are now gradually strengthening” said Rishad Bathiudeen, Minister of Industry and Commerce on 22 October.
