The ring of truth that orbits the well-hackneyed saying among the investors, traders and of course, pundits in the City of London ‘the trend is your friend unless proven otherwise’ seems to be having the potential to expand its scope beyond the strict, virtual perimeter of the financial realm.

CHOGM show-cased Sri Lankan President's resolve and tenacity

President Mahinda Rajapaksa made Sri Lanka proud delivering CHOGM with consummate ease. Even his harshest critics would concede it. He was resolute and tenacious dueling the brazen political arriviste Prime Minister David Cameron eyeing electoral gain back home with tactics bordering on skulduggery while brandishing a big stick. Cameron's ploys to denigrate CHOGM lacked even an iota of statesmanship but were a smoke screen.

Pakistan: Irresponsible Statements of Religious Leaders

On 10 November ISPR Spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa strongly condemned the irresponsible and misleading statements of Syed Munawar Hassan in a TV programme, declaring the dead terrorists like Hakimullah Mehsud and Baitullah Mehsud as shaheeds, whereas soldiers those who sacrificed their lives fighting against terrorism are not shaheed. Similarly JUIF leader Fazlur Rehman stated that anyone killed by US is a ‘martyr’. He also said, “If US kills a DOG, we will consider that DOG as Shaheed”. In fact both religious leaders simply insulted the Shahadat of thousands of innocent Pakistanis and soldiers of Pakistan's armed forces who shed their blood for the nation and Islamic State.
