US Ambassador’s Cup Cricket Tournament Promotes Youth Empowerment, Builds Bridges between Communities

U.S. Ambassador to Sri Lanka Michele Sison sponsored the first-ever US Ambassador’s Cup Cricket Tournament in Kandy this past weekend, with teams from American Corner youth groups from Kandy and in Jaffna playing for the US Ambassador’s Cup trophy.

Muni Siripa Kendraya is a unique nongovernmental organization. It is a brain child of Rev. Hakmana Nandaloka thero, and it undertakes social projects. I had the privilege of attending their latest project ' the National Kite festival at the Galle face Green, Colombo on the 23rd of March 2014.

Will Geneva Vote mean a paradigm shift in India’s neighbourhood policy?

< There has been no overall response in Sri Lanka to India’s stand this time over the voting on the US sponsored Draft Resolution (D/R) at UNHRC session in Geneva despite President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s spontaneous response to release the Indian fishermen in custody and a thank you letter since dispatched to the Indian Prime Minister.
