Mission accomplished – Rosetta catches up with a comet at last!

On August 6th, the European Space Agency – ESA – passed a significant milestone in its 39-year-old history while its spacecraft, Rosetta – the comet chaser – finally caught up with the celestial object that it had been pursuing for well over a decade; Rosetta managed to successfully orbit comet 67P. It is the first spacecraft ever to rendezvous with a comet in the history of space exploration.
