68th Independence Day of India Celebrations in Sri Lanka

The High Commission of India and the Indian expatriate community in Sri Lanka celebrated the 68th Independence Day of India on Friday, 15 August 2014 at India House in Colombo. High Commissioner Mr. Y.K. Sinha unfurled the National Flag and inspected a Guard of Honor presented by the BSF contingent.

Kohima Lions visited Lepers with rice, meats, dhal, potatoes, sweets

Members of the Lions Club of Kohima (LCK) led by its President Lion Talimangyang Jamir have visited lepers in the Leprosy Colony here at Naga Bazar Friday. During the visitation program at the Leprosy Colony, the Club also presented rice, meats, potatoes, dals, sweets, etc. to the inmates.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Health Care Agency Dr. Suresh Menon and several other high-level health officials accompanied the Minister. Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris, Secretary to the President Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the Ministry of External Affairs Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratne and Secretary to the Ministry of Health Mrs. Sudharma Karunaratne were also present for the meeting.
