Lanka First Taste – Showcasing Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage

“Lanka First Taste”, a photography exhibition was jointly opened by Vice Mayor Wu Yuexia, Zhongshan City, China and the Consul General of Sri Lanka in Guangzhou Ms. Yasoja Gunasekera on 17th September 2014. The exhibition will be open to the general public at the popular venue, the Workers’ Cultural Palace in Zhongshan until the 9th of October.

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh start mapping historic FTA in Colombo

As bilateral trade jumped by 67%, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have begun exploring the possibility of a historic Free Trade Agreement on 22 September in Colombo. President Rajapaksa Joins Secretary Clinton at Clinton Global Meeting

President Mahinda Rajapaksa joined former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at the 2014 annual meeting yesterday (23rd September) of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) to extend Sri Lanka’s support to the Elephant Action Network that works toward the conservation of elephants, particularly the greatly threatened African elephants.

Stayed Order on three MLAs upheld

In what could be a major relief to the aggrieved three MLAs – Imtilemba Sangtam, Dr TM Lotha and Mmhonlumo Kikon – the “Stayed Order” passed by the Kohima Bench of Gauhati High Court here on September 12, 2014 was upheld by High Court at Guwahati today.
