Jan-August exports up by 14%’-Rishad

Sri Lanka’s January-August exports have surged by a strong 14%, as announced on 25 September. And more than 110 exporters and Chamber reps have thronged the fifth national Exporters’ Forum in Colombo.

TERI, Yale to hold Indo - US Energy Summit

The Energy and Resources Institute North America (TERI NA) in association with Yale University is to organize the 5th edition of the US-India Energy Partnership Summit, titled ‘Accelerating Resilient Growth and Development’ from Sept 30 to Oct at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park, Washington DC.

Yale University and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) are convening the U.S.-India Energy Partnership Summit on 30 September in Washington, D.C. to contribute to the ongoing high-level dialogue between the United States and India in such areas as renewable energy, climate change and technological innovation.

Assassination of a Prime Minister - S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike

Friday, September 26th marks the 55th year since post-independence Sri Lanka experienced its first political assassination - the killing of Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike on September 26, 1959, three years after he came to power. To date it has been the island's only major political assassination where the culprits were arrested and duly punished after being convicted following a much publicized trial.

Hyderabad to Cape Town: Evidence driving medical research and health systems strengthening

"We develop medicines and other therapies which are based on very good research, but then we offer those therapies often in ways that are untested and have never been evaluated. President Mahinda Rajapaksa handed over US$1 million donation to Palestine

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa officially handed over Sri Lanka’s US$1 million donation to Palestine when he met President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday.
