Sri Lanka Signs the Minamata Convention on Mercury

Dr. Palitha Kohona, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations, signed the Minamata convention on Mercury on behalf of the Government of Sri Lanka on 8th October 2014 at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

United States Supports New Hospital for Akkarayankulam in Kilinochchi District

October 10, 2014: U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Andrew C. Mann is planning to join Dr. P. Sathiyalingan, Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Northern Provincial Council, for a personal tour of the Akkaryankulam Divisional Hospital today, October 11.

Official Inauguration of “Knowing Sri Lanka” program in the state of Kerala

“Knowing Sri Lanka” program, an initiative of Honorary Consulate of Sri lanka in Kerala, targeting the student community in the state was officially unveiled in the presence of a large gathering on Wednesday, October 01, 2014 at the SMV High School in the capital city, Trivandrum. Pakistan and Sri Lanka Discuss Bilateral and Regional Cricketing Ties

Shaheryar Khan, who has recently taken over as Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, visited Sri Lanka on the last leg of his tour of South Asian Cricketing nations. The purpose of the trip was to improve coordination and forge friendly ties between the Cricket Boards of the four South Asian cricketing nations.
