Top global fishery leaders in town tomorrow for first int’l confab

As Sri Lanka’s ornamental fish (O-fish) exports surged by 41%, the country’s first ever Global O-Fish Confab will go live on 10 Monday -and a globally renowned industry leaders will lead the two day sessions in Colombo. “We extend a warm welcome to Mr Bassleer, President of Ornamental Fish International. It is also an honour for Sri Lanka to be the host for such a landmark event” commended Rishad Bathiudeen (Minister of industry and Commerce) on 07 November.

Indian fishermen on death row: Advocates, Students, Youth, politicians rally in support.

Even as an appeal is moved in Sri Lankan Supreme Court against death sentence awarded by Colombo High Court to five fishermen from Rameswaram in an alleged drug trafficking case, advocates, student –youth groups, and politician in Tamilnadu have begun to rally in support of the ill-fated fishermen from the state.
