Blessing President Mahinda Rajapaksa On His Birthday- Holy Mass In Bethlehem

All arrangements have been made to hold a Holy Mass to bless H.E.President Mahinda Rajapaksa in connection with his 69th birth day falling on 18th November 2014.This year there is greater significance attached to this event in view of the impending visit of Most Rev. Pope Francis to Sri Lanka on 13th January 2015.

Long road to justice: Human rights of female migrant workers

In her opening address at the Asia Pacific Civil Society Forum on Beijing+20, being held in Bangkok, Kate Lappin, Regional Coordinator, Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development (APWLD) mentioned that, "Migration into exploitative work is continually on the rise, living wages and decent work conditions are being denied and with deadly consequences. The cheap, exploitable labour of women is underwriting the so-called 'Asian Century' and is used to attract investors to the region."

It’s a ‘face saver’ and a ‘whitewash’ too!

The final ODI between India and Sri Lanka on Sunday ended in a victory for India thus a ’whitewash’ but Angelo Mathew’s team was in no way disgraced for the gallant innings the Lankan captain played.
