Many political parties are contesting to form the government in which Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democratic, UKIP and Green party are the major according to public opinion; however the key competition will take place between Labor Party and Conservative.

Kerry seeks to reset US-Lanka relations, urges Sirisena to cooperate with UN in war crimes investigation!

US Secretary of State John Kerry who visited Sri Lanka recently sought to reset US-Lanka relations and urged new Lankan President Sirisena to work with the United Nations to ensure the investigation into war crimes met international standards order to renew ties. Kerry said the United States is prepared to furnish “whatever legal, whatever technical assistance, whatever help we can to support Sri Lanka". The top US diplomat announced the start of an annual bilateral dialogue and said the United States would immediately send experts to advise the new government on economic growth, trade and investment.
