Gilgit-Baltistan goes to polls on June 8 to elect its second legislative assembly; the opposition is charging the Pakistan Muslim League (N) of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with indulging in rigging even before the first ballot is cast. While all elections held in Pakistan are known to be rigged to various degrees, this is probably for the first time that the opposition has hit the streets with such a charge.
