Any United Nations assistance for people in North, only through Ministry of Resettlement

The government said if any project is being done by the United Nations as assistance for the resettled people in Northern Province, it would be done through the Ministry of Resettlement of the central government not through the Northern Provincial Council.

Indian government signs historic peace accord with NSCN-IM of Nagaland

At long last there is tunnel light in the troubled state of Nagaland in North Eastern India. With an aim of ending insurgency in Nagaland, government on August 03 signed an accord with key faction NSCN (IM), an armed rebel group, paving the way to end the country's oldest insurgency, in the presence of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval by the outfit's leader T Muivah and government's interlocutor R N Ravi at the PM's residence in Delhi. PM Modi described as a "historic" step to usher in peace in the state.

Redefining the Mission of EROS.

Settlement to the ethnic problem continues to evade Sri Lanka. As far as Tamil people are concerned, a peaceful live in their homeland is not possible without a settlement to the ethnic conflict. Thirteenth Amendment has been a half backed solution that satisfies neither the Tamils nor the Sinhalese.
