Peaceful Protest in Sri Lanka urged UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir

The Secretary General of the United Nations was urged to encourage, facilitate and support efforts leading to a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with the UN Security Council Resolutions, as well as exercise the mandate entrusted to him by Charter of the United Nations and under relevant international instruments to forthwith ensure the fundamental rights and freedoms of the oppressed Kashmiri people in particular their right to self-determination.

ASEAN parliamentarians condemn attack on Cambodian lawmakers

Parliamentarians from across Southeast Asia today condemned the recent attack on opposition lawmakers in Cambodia and called for an independent investigation into the incident.

Douglas Devananda to stand trial for murder through video conferencing in Chennai

Former Sri Lankan minister Douglas Devananda is set to stand trial, through video conferencing, before a Chennai court in a 28-year-old murder case. As all 10 accused in connection with the Diwali- eve murder in 1986 are absconding with non bailable warrant (NBW) pending against them, the prosecution has sought to split the trial and hold a separate trial against Devananda.

Maldives foreign Minister to brief on explosion on Presidential speedboat
