The Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Cuba, Sarath Dissanayake presented his Letter of Credence to the Acting President of the Republic of Ecuador, Jorge David Glas Espinel on 28th September 2015, as Sri Lanka’s first Ambassador to Ecuador, at a simple but colorful ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Quito, the capital of Ecuador.

U.S. Ambassador-at-Large Highlights Women’s Roles in Economy and Reconciliation

U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Catherine Russell departed Sri Lanka today after her two-day visit to underscore the strong U.S. commitment to gender equality and women’s empowerment in Sri Lanka.

Finance minister says Sri Lanka a future investment destination

The Minister of Finance, Mr. Ravi Karunanayake, called on Swiss investors to invest in the future investment destination that is Sri Lanka. He said that since the change of the new government in January 2015, there is a strong national oriented government in place ushering in sustainable political stability for Sri Lanka.

Sri Lankan government was contemplating the imposition of a fine on Tamil Nadu for the damages done to the underwater marine life and the pollution caused by its fishermen, Sri Lankan fisheries industry minister said.
