Embarkation Tax slightly increased by US$05/=

The embarkation taxi levied on travelers departing Sri Lanka will be slightly increased from US$ 25 to US$ 30 from January 1 next year in keeping with a Budget proposal.

Looking into the Abyss of Oil Price Rout

The descent of oil price on a financial chart is almost like that of a parachutist with a pleasant spectacle to look at from consumers’ point of view. Whereas the parachutist may be at the mercy of gravity, the price of oil seems to be hinging on the wishful thinking of the world’s largest producer, Saudi Arabia, which has not given up on pushing the new competitors in the industry, mainly the shale oil producers in the US, to the wall.
