According to the latest arrangement, 31 Sri Lankan Tamil refugees living in Tamil Nadu, India are arriving Sri Lanka on 19th May 2016 Under the UNHCR facilitated voluntary repatriation programme.

China vying total mineral entry

Boosting Sri Lankan mineral sector outlook, a global industry conglomerate from China mainland announced on May 12 that it is ready to take a lead role in Sri Lanka’s strategic minerals. “We are looking for outright purchase of any mineral sands and graphite production of Sri Lanka” said a determined President of Beijing’s SSG International Holding Group’s Chen Hong on 12 May in Colombo.
