U.S. EXIM Bank Chairman Visits Water Reservoir Project in Badulla

Chairman Fred Hochberg of the Export-Import Bank (EXIM) of the United States visited the Badulla site of the EXIM-funded water reservoir project yesterday. The approximately Rs. 9.4 billion ($64.9 million) project was funded in 2012 through a 12-year direct loan for this Integrated Water Supply System.

Kaduwela MC and UNDP kick start Waste to Energy Project

The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) entered into its first Government Co-Financed project with the Kaduwela Municipal Council to effectively manage solid waste in the area to generate bio-gas energy.

India’s recorded history is among the longest in human memory: the ancient civilization of the Indus valley goes back some 5,000 years. The Tamil Nadu government is under increasing pressure to share regular information on the health of J Jayalalithaa, who has been in hospital for nearly two weeks. The Chief Minister's health 'continues to improve", Apollo hospitals said on Tuesday, hours after the Tamil Nadu government was told that regular updates "will reduce the anxiety of people".
