Pakistan to launch Pakistan Alumni Society of Sri Lanka

To foster, encourage and promote close relations between the people of Pakistan and Sri Lanka and to provide support to prospective Sri Lankan students going to Pakistan for higher education, the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka is planning to launch Pakistan Alumni Society of Sri Lanka, soon.

US lauds Sri Lanka’s reforms agenda and reconciliation steps

United States Acting Assistant Secretary of State, Alice Wells praised the progress made by Sri Lanka under the leadership of President Maithripala Sirisena in the democratic reforms and reconciliation process. The United Nations Security Council met on 30 August to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Rakhine State, Burma.
