Historic’ plan to reduce nicotine in cigarettes

The Food and Drug Administration on (FDA) last week took the first concrete action to reduce nicotine in cigarettes to make them much less addictive, opening a regulatory process described as a “historic first step” by the agency's top official.

Decapitated Buddha statue

In a Letter to the Editor dated 16th March, Asoka Weerasinghe from Ottawa, Canada writes, The four-foot white Buddha statue sitting on a four-foot pedestal had been decapitated and the head was broken to pieces and strewn on the carpet of snow. This peaceful Buddhist community was in shock and numbed and some were in tears.
