Sivathanujan – A budding Chess Maestro from the Northern Horizon

Sivanathan Sivathanujan of Chunnakam is just 17 years old, a young and budding chess maestro from the Jaffna Kokkuvil Hindu College and is now in the efficient and capable hands of the Retired Army Commander, General Daya Ratnayake, who is to shape this young man, to be the in the near future - beholden a leading Chess Grand Master in the Country.

U.S. Embassy to Launch American Corner in Matara

The U.S. Embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding on August 30 with the Matara Chamber of Industry and Commerce to open a new American Corner in Matara. Ms. Nancy VanHorn, the U.S. Embassy’s acting Public Affairs Officer, and Mr. Metta Widanagamachchi, Chairman of the Chamber, signed the Memorandum.
