A Basic Question on LTTE Legitimacy

I have a very fundamental question that I would like to pose to misguided Tiger supporters, sane Tamils and Sinhalese, and all other international readers. Is it not well established that Parabakaran is a criminal that is wanted both in India and in Sri Lanka for the vicious crimes he has committed. If so, what gives him OR the LTTE that he is leading any legitimacy to participate in any kind of peace negotiation with the SL government. If I am a wanted criminal hiding in a jungle or a cave do I have any right to play a leadership role in any discussion with the community in which I am wanted?

As I see, the only reason he and LTTE has been granted this role is because he has pushed the people of Sri Lanka and the government to the utmost limits of their endurance through an extremely violent campaign with covert support from their friends in Norway and other terrorist friendly governments. To put it very very plainly, the Tigers have successfully blackmailed the SL government into agreeing to negotiate with criminals.

I am amazed by the fact that all of the so-called peace loving western nations (such as USA, Canada, Australia, UK) and India (who will not negotiate with Kashmiri separatists) that publicly swear that they will never negotiate with terrorists, are all happily advising and pressuring the GOSL to not retaliate in anyway to the Tiger brutalities BUT negotiate with them. It seems VERY CLEAR that the international community is playing a dangerous double game here.

I am not denying the fact that there may be some legitimate grievances of the Tamil people that MUST be addressed by GOSL. My point is that LTTE is should NEVER be a part of that discusson in view of their past and current terrorist and criminal behavior. IF TIGERS HAVE A RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE SO DOES BIN LADEN AND AL QUIDA! After all, just like the Tigers, have'nt they too proven their ability to cause death and destruction and bring the US government to a standstill.

What is happening in Sri Lanka gives a two clear messages to terrorists all over -

1. any legitimate government can be brought to their knees with sustained voilence and support from many mercenary sources

2. you can bet that the international community will do very little to stop it

This is the dangerous world of tomorrow. It is Sri Lanka today but some other nation tomorrow where some crackpot thug like Prabakaran can rise us and cause havc.
