THE TAMILS WORLD OVER WILL BE REMEMBERING THE 22ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE GENOCIDE AGAINST THE TAMIL MINORITY IN SRI LANKA BY THE GOVT, OF SRI LANKA.

1. THE SINHALESE DISTROYED MORE THAN $500 MILLIONS WORTH OF PROPERTY AND BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS BELONGED TO THE TAMIL MINORITY DURING THE WEEK OF JULY 22 TO JULY 29, 1983

2. OVER 5000 INNOCENT TAMILS INCLUDNG CHILDREN BEEN KILLED BY THE SINHALESE AND OVER 40,000 HOUSES BEEN BURNT AND LOOTED AND THOUSANDS OF WOMEN BEEN RAPED BY THE SINHALESE AND THE SECURITY FORCES.

3. OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES OVER 900, 000 TAMILS GOT DISPLACED BECAUSE OF THE SRI LANKAN ARMY ATROCITIES.

OVER 1 MILLION TAMILS LEFT THE COUNTRY AS REFUGEES TO SEVERAL WESTERN COUNTRIES. THE WESTERN COUNTRIES CONDEMED THE ATROCITIES COMMITTED AGAIST THE TAMILS BY THE SRI LANKAN SECURITY FORCES.

4. 54 TAMIL INMATES IN THE MAXIMUM SECURITY PRISON IN COLOMBO WAS TORTURED AND KILLED BY THE PRISON GUARDS ON THE 23RD OF JULY 1983 BY THE ORDERS OF THE SRI LANKAN GOVT.

AN INMATE NAMED KUTTIMANI WAS TORTURED AND HIS EYES WAS GORGED AND PUT IN FRONT OF THE BUDDHA STATUE.

5. J . R . JAYAWARDENE THE PRESIDENT OF SRI LANKA ENCOURAGED THE SINHALA MASSES TO RISE UP AND KILL THE TAMILS BY HIS STATEMENT OVER THE STATE RUN TV RUPAVAHINI. TAMILS WHO TOOK REFUGE IN SINHALESE HOUSES BEEN HUNTED BY SINHALESE GOONDAS AND KILLED DURING THE WEEK OF JULY 1983
