By Daya Gamage – U.S. Bureau of Asian Tribune

On International Workers Day, popularly known as May Day worldwide, never celebrated in the United States which has its own Labor Day every September, will be used by nation-wide Hispanic organizations which have called No Work, No School, No Sales, and No Buying to show the numerical and economic strength to convince the lawmakers in the U.S. Congress that it was high time the nation took serious efforts to resolve the already boiling undocumented immigration issue.

It has been estimated that there are approximately 12 million undocumented or illegal immigrants in the United States, and bulk of them from South American countries especially from Mexico.

The United States first ever known May Day is named as A Day Without Immigrants, and according to reports reaching the Asian Tribune U.S. Bureau, Hispanic organizations and other umbrella organizations of immigrant organizations are confident that all fifty states will participate to show the strength of America’s immigrant population.
