By Iqbal Hussain Khan Yousafzai – Reporting from Islamabad

Islamabad, 26 February, (Asiantribune.com): US President George W. Bush has hinted that the United States was playing a role for "a lasting solution" of the Kashmir issue which is acceptable to all parties including Pakistan, India and the people of Kashmir.

"I have started to play a role, I spoke out on the issue and encouraged the (Pakistan) President and the Prime Minister of India to continue down the road of solving the issue with a solution that’s acceptable to all sides," he told in an interview with Pakistan Television.

"And that’s very important. There's a temptation sometimes for countries to try to jump in the middle of dialogue," he stated. "I believe a lasting solution can be achieved," President Bush added.
