Chandrasekar accuses Ranil Wickremasinghe's UNP of initiating and implementing anti-Tamil policies and violence

Colombo, 11 November, (Asiantribune.com); It would be a historic win for Mahinda Rajapakse on November 17, 2005 at the presidential polls, claimed Ramalingham Chandraseker, JVP’s national list Member of Parliament, and Mahinda’s victory is already a forgone conclusion.

In an exclusive interview with “Asian Tribune” Chandrasekhar said unlike Ranil Wickremasinghe’s manifesto which paves the way for mortgaging the country to international community, World Bank, IMF and the multinational corporations, Mahinda’s Chintana is meant to build the country as an economically and politically viable nation.

"Earlier," he said, "it was alleged that because Mahinda Rajapakse entered into an agreement with JVP there will be war in this country once he is elected even though Mahinda Rajapakse has told time and again that he would be involved in talks and would be only interested in a negotiated settlement to the ethnic issues in the country.

Even recently when Mahinda Rajapakse was in Jaffna on November 04 he raised a question as to who staged the ethnic riot in 1983 and who set one of the best libraries in South Asia on fire. He is on record saying: ' Unlike the UNP, I will put a halt to the war and I will strive and take all measures to bring a peaceful political solution to the Tamils problem,'" said Chandrasekhar.
