CHILD ABUSE IN SRI LANKA BY BUDDHIST MONKS

CHILD ABUSE IN SRI LANKA

ON MY LAST VISIT TO SRI LANKA ON DECEMBER 2004 IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF SRI LANKA I CAME TO KNOW THAT CHILDREN UNDER AGE OF 7 ARE FORCED TO JOIN THE BUDDHIST MONASTRIES AND TEMPLES. CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IS VERY HIGH IN THESE BUDDHIST TEMPLES BECAUSE THEY USE THESE CHILDREN AS OUTLETS TO MEET THEIR SEXUAL APPETITE. NO ONE DARE TO QUESTION THEM AS BUDDHIST RELIGION IS THE STATE RELIGION IN SRI LANKA.
